“On July 3, Seventeen magazine’s editor in chief, Ann Shoket, announced that the publication had written up a Body Peace Treaty, signed by the whole staff, which pledged to “never change girls’ body or face shapes” and use images of “real girls and models who are healthy.”
“The American Medical Association and the National Eating Disorders Association, among other organizations, say that unrealistic images propagated by the media can trigger body image and self-esteem issues and contribute to eating disorders. Over the last year, the fashion industry has been under pressure to limit airbrushing and avoid using too-skinny models. In February, Glamour promised not put its models or featured celebs on a “digital diet” and the following month, Vogue said they would ban underweight models.”
“In response to her win, Bluhm wrote on her petition page, “Seventeen listened! They’re saying they won’t use photoshop to digitally alter their models! This is a huge victory, and I’m so unbelievably happy.” Now, she is supporting a new effort by two other young activists, Carina Cruz and Emma Stydahar, to end photo retouching at another girls magazine. Look out, Teen Vogue.”

^ This is incredible news! It also gives me hope for when I have children someday :)

My breakfast this morning
Green tea infused with honey (I am trying to ween myself off of coffee)
1 egg with ground pepper on top
1 piece of ezekiel bread, toasted, cut in half, thin layer of organic peanut butter
1/3 cup of Fage 0% plain yogurt. I diced fresh fruit and mixed it in which gave it flavor. 2 strawberries, 2 blueberries, a child’s handful of black caps lol, and a few chunks of pineapple. Pineapple being the only fruit I had to buy from the store (:
If you haven’t worked out today - GO WORK OUT! RIGHT NOW!!! :D
Even if it’s not a “workout” even if it’s doing crazy dance moves or cleaning your bedroom as fast as you can or 100 jumping jacks. Or maybe a pop pilates video or a bodyrock or a tone it up! Just DO IT! Set your timer for 5 minutes, step away from your comp and do something active!
I HAVE TURNED NOCTURNAL.
I went to bed at 3AM, woke up at 9AM, felt like a dead possum on the side of the road ALL DAY LONG, despite the amount of coffee I consumed, and now I am literally bouncing off of the walls!
Speaking of bouncing off of the walls, have any of you ever tried running up the wall and doing a backflip and then landing on your feet? Can anyone do that??? Seriously, I have been wanting that skill ever since my friend showed me in the 8th grade. I need to start training for that because I would feel like the biggest bad ass.
ANYWAY. At the moment I am running all over the room practicing my weirdest dance moves to Rihanna radio on Pandora. OMG I SWEAR - “Idiot friends” by Sponge bob JUST came on my pandora station!!!!! WTF!!!! Hahahahahahah
I also challenged my puppy to a race, which I highly suggest! She is an extremely tough competitor and it is WAY more fun than any HIIT running workout I have tried ;)
If you haven’t worked out today GO WORK OUT! Right now! I mean it!
I AM FULL OF ENERGY. OMG.
I swear it was all of the squats and deadlifts I did ;)
You will feel AMAZING afterwards! :D
